Getting letter of invitation for Belarus

    Hey all,

I'd appreciate some advice from anyone else who have visited Belarus recently. I'm trying to get a visa for a few days there and I'm planning to apply to the London-based consulate. I need a letter of invitation, however, and all the tour operators who usually provide this are saying I would need to book all hotels through them at quite a higher cost than I had planned.

Has anyone here managed to get a letter of invitation without going through a tour operator? Is there ways around this to avoid buying into a company's itinerary?

It's a long shot but if anyone can help, I'd be delighted!

Thanks for this but it's literally only ten days finished before I'm free to travel!! I hope everyone going without doing the work I'm doing to get a visa have a horrible time :)
