Stuck second hand on Tag Aquaracer

    Guys,

Just looking for some thoughts on this. I have a Tag Aquaracer chronograph (Model Can1010). I got it as a wedding present in 2011 and I love it to bits.

Anyway in the last few weeks I noticed that the second hand is stuck at 19 seconds to the hour. (or 41 seconds past if you're that way inclined).

I've tried playing with the various resets on the 2 buttons but the hand is stuck. When I reset the chronograph the hand should return to 12 but it just shakes in its position and stays put.

Apart from that the watch is running fine, no issues with keeping time and the other timers are perfect.

Is this something that that a service would fix? I haven't had anything done with it service wise since I bought it.

If it is a service issue does anyone have any recommendations to get it done, ideally in Dublin and hopefully not costing the earth. (Weirs wanted to take €400+ off me for a service, in Manchester).

Sounds like it needs a service alright. Emily at www.watchrepairs.ie is a very good bet and doesn't charge the daft prices of jewelry shops like Weir.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Strange, I spoke to her on the mobile number on watchrepairs.ie earlier this week. She doesn't have the workshop on South William St anymore, but you can leave your watch at the shop at #51 and she will collect it from there, if you arrange it with her first. There is also a guy in the Powerscourt Centre called Tibor who Emily recommended, I don't know the name of the shop but its one of the antiques shops and has a "Watch Repairs" sign outside.
