Only just heard the breaking news now.

"A Virgin aircraft flying from Australia is believed to have been hijacked at Bali airport, reports quoting Indonesian officials say."

It's a developing story so there isn't any more news on it.
I hope this ends well :(

As of 2 minutes ago it's landed and sitting on the tarmac in Denpasar, Bali.

A drunken passenger is arrested after a captain tells authorities his plane has been 'hijacked'.

    Weird...

    That is weird.

Sky are saying it was just a drunken attempt to enter the cockpit not a hijack.

    BBC saying the same

By the sounds of it someone was drunk and tried to break into the cockpit.

Surely they could have restrained one drunken idiot?

I hope he gets an absolute kicking.

That is going to be one bad hangover

Might have been a hijacking attempt in the same vein as that Reid chap with the shoes some years back. I do wonder what a normal person would be doing trying to force their way into the cockpit of an airliner, even after a rake of drink.

Please don't let this end with a 'drunk Irish in Australia' story..

I hope if he's arrested and charged he gets treated in accordance with his rights and gets a fair trial.

He's in for a world of ****e considering the offence landed him in Indonesia of all places.

Wonder what would happen if another passenger just took care of the situation?
I do a lot of travelling and if this happened on a flight I would be very tempted to restrain the other passenger but not if I end up in prison for a few years!

Bali is to Australians what Ibiza is to Europeans. A place to get absolutely mangled

They say when you're an alcoholic you will eventually hit rock bottom.

I'd say attempting to hijack a plane is this guy's rock bottom.
Let's hope he sees some sense and get's help.

Maybe he took some Nurofen with the booze. :pac:

Denpasar maybe, but the rest of the island is stunning. Ubud for starters.

Planes make diversions due to drunken or just unruly passengers all the time.

It's not every day that a drunk comes along who's stupid enough to try and force themselves into the cockpit though.

for a split second when he wakes up he wont have any memory of trying to hijack the plane and then......

    worst FEAR ever:D
