    Hi,
I'm having 1 bottom wisdom tooth removed under GA on Monday morning.
If you have experienced similar, how long do you think it will take to recover?
Hoping to be fit to run by the weekend, fingers crossed!

    Thanks in advance

I posted my experience of this around 6 months ago - I felt grand, so I ran the same day, both times I got my wisdom teeth out: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=86901230&postcount=472
    Hope that helps!

    Oops - I see you're under GA, I wasn't, that's totally different, sorry!

I had mine out in Sept under GA - I felt it took me 4-5 days to fully get over the anaesthetic. It was my second GA and I found it a bit tougher than the first. I'm sure it effects everyone differently. I would be more concerned about the impact caused by running & pain. I had four out at once tho so with just one you might not be too bad. Not sure I would have felt like running a week later but then I normally don't feel like running anyway ;-)

I'm doing ok so far! No pain just a bruised swollen jaw (looks like someone punched me)
Still feeling a bit weak though!

I've got mine removed on 27th April and well... I'm still not done with it- it was impacted so there was need for surgical extraction, quite a bit of a pain, and there's an infection now so antibiotics need to be taken 3 days longer.... so, in bad cases it might be 2 weeks 'out' of your life.

Sorry to hear your still in pain- I hope gets sorted in the next few days.

I had mine out on the 28th of April. I was feeling quite weak from Monday-Friday from the general anesthetic, painkillers (too strong for me had to stop taking) and the general swollen bruised jaw and lack of proper meals (lost 2kg eating soft food which I cant really afford to loose)

Towards the end of the week when my jaw could move more I felt the stitches felt very tight! I back eating full sized meals since Friday & finished antibiotics on Saturday!

Ran the 10k race anyway on Sunday in no pain, few moments where I felt a little weak & lightheaded but overall I'm happy.

same here dude, lost at least 2kg... which is bad for me as I exercise regularly... I need to go back to the dentist as he missed one stitch which apparently hide himself somewhere in the mouth [sic!] - which is really funny because I did not see it before, either and we've thought it has just 'fall out', heh.

Already eating normal meals now, which is definetely a relief :) Glad you're able to run the race :)

    Are your stitches dissolvable?
