I built a pc to for a similar purpose and budget as yourself, I use architecture programs and post processing like 3ds max / photoshop / indesign. You can see the parts list on the last post in this thread

    http://touch.boards.ie/thread/2057160349/3

I wanted to be able to game on it aswell so if you wanted to lower the budget you could move down to a lower gpu and psu. It was also suggested to get an Intel Xeon instead of the i7 which could also save you a lot of €'s. I did a lot of research before picking the parts so it would be a solid base for you to start with and you can change the parts around for your own needs. I picked that motherboard because it had 2usb 2.0 ports so that I could install windows via USB. (Dosnt work through a USB 3.0 port FYI)

Build didn't include windows which I got for 60€ student price on Microsoft website and a 23in IPS matte display from amazon link in the thread

On the phone so I couldn't paste the spec table into this post.

Editing and everyday use, no gaming

Just before I come up with a build, I'm assuming you need a card reader, plenty of USB's and a lot of storage, right?
Do you need an eSata connection on the motherboard?

eSata is used for external storage, that is as fast as internal Sata ports.

no harm having one, the external storage i have now are usb 3

Idk, will this card reader do?

    Intel Core i7-4770 Box, LGA1150 261,03 €
    ASUS H87M-PRO (C2) 97,05 €
    16GB-Kit G.Skill RipJaws-X PC3-12800U CL9 132,36 €
    Samsung SSD 840 EVO Basic 250GB SATA 6Gb/s 119,99 €
    WD Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 68,88 €
    Corsair CX Series Modular CX600M, 600W 65,19 €
    Iiyama ProLite X2380HS-B1 148,16 € (monitor)
Corsair Carbide Series 200R, ATX, ohne Netzteil 51,04 €
    Windows 8.1 64Bit Eng Intl (SB-Version) DVD 86,45 €
    LogiLink USB 2.0 all-in-one Card Reader, für 3,5" Einbauchschacht 3,99 €
    LG GH24NS bare schwarz 13,52 €

Total of €1.047,66, excluding delivery, keyboard and a mouse. Running the parts through geizhals.de should get them cheaper. Also, Amazon might be a good pick for free delivery, fairly good pricing and I guess good customer support.

Went over the budget, unfortunately. We can go with smaller SSD, cheaper monitor, 8GB of RAM, cheaper HDD. There's a few ways around it, it's up to you.

The motherboard has 2xUSB2.0, 4xUSB3.0 and 2xeSata. It's also got 1 internal USB3.0 header and 3 internal USB2.0 headers. Each header equals two ports.
The monitor is a 23" IPS panel, that looks a lot nicer than standard TN panels.
The power supply might be a bit of an overkill, since you won't have a graphics card, apart from the CPU-integrated GPU. The integrated GPU should be fine with photo editing, although if you ever decide to get a proper GPU, you won't have to replace the power supply.
i7 + 16GB of RAM + SSD is be a really good option for photo editing. Fast and nice, capable of running all your software all at once without any problems.
Includes windows, card reader and an optical drive.
The case is just a case, it has 2 USB3.0 ports, basic audio connectors and a fair amount of space inside.

Looks good that card reader is ok. Don't mind going over abit thanks.

No bother, good luck with your build. :)

Btw, you might find this useful.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMo8krAJd5Q
When you're installing Windows, unplug the WD HDD from the Sata connector, just in case. Once you got your OS on the SSD, plug in the HDD and follow the steps from the video.
And most importantly set the SSD to AHCI mode before installing Windows and turn off scheduled defragmentation once you have it. Defrags decrease the lifespan of SSD's.

They don't have ASUS H87M-PRO (C2) in stock. They want to know if I want another in its place.
    Can you recommend anything better.

Dunno about the motherboard but Theres some changes Id reccomend for photo editing for the ideal build.

    1) RAM is mega important, Literally put in as much ram as your OS and motherboard will allow. Turn off windows swapfile and let the programs run in ram rather then on the Disks or SSD.
    2) Buy Two identical hard drives and set them up in a mirrored Raid, practcally all motherboards support this.
    3) 1 TB isnt a lot when your processing RAW images, I'd get 3 TB fast drives drives like the black versions.
    4) No real need for an I7 and I5 woudl do just as well for Photo Editing
    5) Buy a Spyder calibrator!! http://spyder.datacolor.com/display-calibration/
    6) You dont need a 250 gig SSD, Half that is more then enough. Set your photoshop scratch files to run off the mechanical disk.
