Hoover Fridge Freezer issues

Hi, I bought a new Hoover Frost Free fridge freezer end of May 2012, by May 2013 I had Hoover out 2 times to try to fix it. Its freezing up in both the fridge and freezer. Initial Eng said too much gas, fiddled and turned it down to 1. All the freezer food defrosted over the following days. Next eng said leaking gas, replaced compressor. This was done under the 12 mth warranty period. Now its the same issue again with freezing up, can't get the drawers into the freezer as the ice is pushing them out. They refused to replace the fridge at the time. Its not even 2 years old. They're demanding a callout fee to look at it again, even though its the same problem again. Have gone back to retailer now who say they will log a call with management. Hoover UK are among the worst/rudest customer service I've had the pleasure of dealing with. Any idea what I can do? Can't afford to replace it again but I think they should.

    Thanks

If I were you I would phone the Irish consumer agency. They are very helpful. If you expected to get 6 years out of your appliance, you might get 4/6 of your money back going to small claims court. Sounds like bad customer service. Just because there was only a one year warranty doesn't mean you have no recourse with the seller in year two.

Thanks. Yes, consumer help are great. They advised me to go to the retail store so after many many phonecalls, a visit to store, I was finally offered a replacement unit by the manufacturer today, with the small charge of 120eur attached as a replacement fee!!!!! So called the well know retailer's helpdesk again, ranted some more at them, tried in vain to get to a manager or even the name of a manager. Finally got a call back from someone on retailer helpdesk, who said fee was 80eur and had confirmed this again with manufacturer. Spoke to consumer help again, so have decided the easiest (fastest) way to get a working fridge is to just accept the replacement and pay them another 80 eur on the god*am thing! They're saying because it was working for some of the time, the fee is to cover the use I've already got from the fridge. So have been bounced back to the manufacturer again, who are to call me to arrange a replacement @ 80eur. So the drama will continue tomorrow I guess! I may actually get a fridge by the end of this week! Will make me think twice about buying from said retailer again!!
