Does anyone own or know anything about Malone Mowers ? I was thinking of buying an 8' mower with topping skids. They seem well priced but are belt driven rather than shaft driven.
    Any advice ?

I remember looking at them at the ploughing and thinking they were very good and sturdy looking. Good to hear they are working well.

Priced a few places for them lately, the Delaney guy in Laois was the best price for the 7ft I was looking at

    is their trailed model only a 9ft 6 ?

they really need the 10ft 6 to compete with the major players

Bought a Malone procut 800 (8ft) about 2 years ago. Has only mowed about 50 acres of paddocks and topped about another 150 acres.
Brother borrowed it yesterday and arrived back with the cover leaning! Big crack along the main beam of the cover which had to be welded. Not overly impressed as I see a good few more stress cracks starting to appear on the cover steel work also. Mower itself is not so bad but does skip out over grass particularly going down hill. Not a patch to cut on the JD1365 we have.
