Changing Sky Package - when does it take effect?

    Hi,

Currently have the full Sky offer (HD, Movies and Sports)

Looking to downgrade to the basic package as soon as the premier league ends on May 11 with a view to going back to the full option after the summer.

Questions: if I go in online and change my package, does it happen immediately or on my next billing anniversary? Also, if I have recorded stuff in HD and turn off the HD sub, do I lose access to that even though I still have the channel (e.g. Sky Atlantic).

Any downgrade requires 31 days notice so you need to do it now.

And recordings are tied to your sub, you lose access to any recordings from a channel you no longer subscribe to - if you turn off HD you obviously lose recordings from Sky Atlantic HD.

    thanks for the quick reply.

So if I do it now, the channels switch off 31 days from today (i.e. about may 27th or so)? I keep them until then?

Spot on; they may offer you a deal though.
