FETAC Childcare question about foreign Qualification

Hello, wondering if anyone has experience in getting a qualification from abroad recognised so that they can work in Childcare? My other half is debating whether or not to pursue a diploma course here in Australia. Looking around I see that this should be recognised at level 6 on the NFQ which would I imagine mean that it would be equivalent as FETAC level 6

However, would childcare centres recognise this or would one have to do some 'bridging' course in a way to have everything above board?

    Found this.

    Recognition of Foreign Qualifications

The ‘National Qualifications Authority of Ireland’ and ‘Qualifications Recognition Ireland’ assess qualifications obtained abroad to determine their equivalent NFQ Level in Ireland, for e.g. the CACHE Diploma in Early Childhood Education is equivalent to NFQ Level 5 Major Award in Childcare.

Looks to be a no brainer but then again nothing clear cut either.

I also have problems having my italian qualification recognized. Apparently the NQI has told me i need a translation of all the subjects studied in the 4 years and then this translation has to be signed as matching the original by a court or police officer...where in heaven do i have to go, all contacts told me they are not entitled to do this thing...a translation authenticated by the translation agency is not acceptable either...Im appalled...Not all, I also have applied for a FETAC lev 6 in childcare and they told me i NEED to have a Fetac 5 as they will assume i know what was done previously...but if i already have a foreign qualification in Childcare level 6, what is their problem as long as i am able to write the assignments are required and pass the exams? I have a leaving Cert and another lev. 5 FETAC qualification
