    Hey,

Just looking for some advice. An acquaintance of a friend has seen some images that I took for my friend's dance event and has asked me to do some for one that he is running. Obviously I dont want to give my time for free (my friend bought me dinner) so I was wondering what would be a good price to quote for a 3 hour shoot with a few hours post processing involved?

I would suppose it would be about 6 hours in total?

    Many Thanks
    R

Wow, I must be really expensive so. My rates are much higher than that. :D

But that rate sounds fair for a 6 hr job.

    That's why I don't hire you :D

Joking aside, €60 per hour is on the low side as I'm not a pro and don't do this full time so you may have to pay more to get top notch people.

Rates definitely vary, and depend on a number of conditions, including how much the client can afford or is willing to pay and if you really want the job or not. Your rate there sounds like a very good base point to start from.

Is that per hour at the event, or per hour including PPing?

Mind you I didn't do any processing as they were shot as jpegs all with flash so apart from deleting any bad ones there was no processing to speak of. Twenty minutes in LR and straight to disc so the price was per hour at the event.
