I have applied to countless jons online and seem to be getting no where and I wanted to ask which will get you further online or dropping them off into the stores

I know my shop ask for online C.Vs and will not accept physical copies simply to avoid clutter.

Some shops ONLY recruit online (mainly big stores & chains) so there's absolutely no point handing CVs to them. They won't even look at it because it won't match their online application form (which could include aptitude tests/specific questions about previous work).

If you see a sign on the window of a shop, definitely hand one in (unless it says "online/email only"). That gives you the opportunity to meet the manager & give a good impression.

    The answer is: it depends.

Some owners/managers will check all CVs received via job websites. Or may only check them every now and then.

Some owners/managers will check all CVs received via walk ins. Or may only check them every now and then.

A risk with handing in your CV personally is the staff member you give it to may bin it.

I would think that electronic format is the standard these days. If someone handed me a paper version I would think it inconvenient to be honest.
