Liberty Insurance quote

So I've been getting quotes from different insurers and have noticed something.

When I get a quote for a 2006 Opel Astra 1.6 diesel valued at 5000 euro, the premium is 737. When the car is valued at 8000, the premium is 722 and when its valued at 10000 the premium comes up at 715.

Is it wrong to overvalue a car when buying insurance ?

Maybe if you value it at 100000 it will be free:pac:
I think its safe to overvalue it at 8 say if worth 5 or 6 and be seen as reasonable.

Should a total loss occur, you will only receive the market value anyway

I am aware of that, but it seems that the more the car is worth, the cheaper the premium :D

It seems to hit a peak at about 15k, bring the insurance down to 706. Probably not worth lying over a saving of 30 euro.
