Creation watches - Delivery issues

    Hi,

I ordered a Seiko Urchin from Creation watches last Saturday. Cost was €110 including free DHL delivery. I paid by PayPal and thought that this was the end of the transaction.

This morning I then recieved an E-Mail from creation watches stating that DHL could not deliver to my address and that I would have to pay an additional €15 to have the watch delivered by FedEx.

I responded saying that DHL have frequently delivered goods to my address and there has never been a delivery issue using DHL. Creation watches own website shows delivery to Ireland using DHL Express as being free. The response I got back was that I could have the watch delivered uninsured by normal mail or I could pay their "substantially reduced rate of €15" to have the watch delivered by FedEx.

I responded that I would like the transaction voided and payment refunded to my PayPal account. The interaction via E-Mail was near immediate this morning but I have heard nothing since 0800 this morning since I requested a refund.

Anyone ever have a similar issue with this company?

    Thanks for reading

    D

More than likely an issue with import duty / customs. The courier won't deliver unless this is paid.

Anytime I've used DHL in the past they have paid the customs / duties and then I have paid this on delivery. Why would DHL refuse to deliver an item now? The watch hasn't left creation yet and isn't duty only applied when the goods enter the country? As I said above, Creation watches appear to have withdrawn the free DHL express delivery option and are now expecting me to pay an additional €15 for FedEx.

Just wondering if anyone else who ordered from creation has come across this?

There was a thread on this a few months ago unfortunately the poster didn't post what happened in the end.

I found them to be great, did get an email about some delivery issue that was quickly followed by a phone call from dhl to pay import duty. Email them and ask if the 15 euro is for customs.

Got a watch 2 months ago off them through DHL, DHL subsequently billed me for about a tenner (a few days after receiving the watch). This was for customs though not delivery, so make sure that the 15 they are trying to charge you is for customs or you may be stiffed with another bill at the end

Creation watches finally came back and after further E-Mails it transpires that the additional €15 was for delivery and not customs charges. They couldn't provide me with a reason as to why they were charging me €15 when they're delivery charges on their website says that it's free.

Refund has now been made to my paypal account so I'll just write this one down to experience and move on.
    Thx for the replies
