    Quick question:

For someone on BTEA in college full time, if you do a paid work placement for 7 months, do you have to sign off for the period?

And crucially, once the work placement is over do you start receiving the BTEA again for the remainder of the course?

In circumstances where BTEA participants have to, as an integral or compulsory part of their course of study, undertake a period of work placement/experience or a thesis, the allowance will continue in payment for this period. The participant must supply written evidence from the Registrars’ Office/Admissions Office or Student Records Office of the school/college/institution confirming this and the start and completion date. Work placement outside of Ireland should not be considered where there is the option to undertake the work placement in Ireland. Work placement after the completion of a FIT course is not covered.

You get paid both basically. If your placement is well paid then happy days.

And yes you will continue as usual with BTEA when finished placement.
