well lads was out for a shot this evening and happened on these fellas. when i seen em i wasnt sure weather to take the shot as there so young but then common sense kicked in and i dispatched what would have become a two phesant killing mechines in a few months, so i was wondering two things, what age would you say they are ? and would yous have taken the shot ?

If I was rearing pheasant or lambing like we are now I'd definitely take the shot. Other than that I'd leave them for a night there's nothing on TV.

Be no different than shooting a vixen with cubs back home.
Only these had a quick death instead of starving to death.
Dead fox is a good fox. Doesn't matter the age

As last post a dead fox is a good fox no matter what age or time of year.

Whats the difference between shooting them now and in a few months , they might be harder got in a few months and would regret not taken them when you had the chance, shoot first think about it later.

Bit of hijacking here, but still on foxs.
I was in work today in certain barracks in Dublin discussing business with my back to a full length window when suddenly the lad I was talking to says 'there's a fox'. I turned and expected to see one in the open grassed area, but no here it was walking along the path out side my window at about 3 o'clock in the day, it continued along the path across the road strolling to the other side of the barracks.
Now as a city boy I've seen em every where but usually in the wee hours and I've shot some in the country side in broad day light, but this is the first time I've seen one so braisen in a public urban setting.

Worst of all is seeing them in the city streets and even your own housing estate on the way back from a fruitless lamping session in rural Co Dublin.

i agree with many of the other posters. if your lambing or rearing pheasants then fine but only for controlling numbers. If livestock wasent a problem leave them on and be ready for a nice evening lamping in september

It would take alot of wildlife to keep them fed from now until Sept !!
