    Chaps,

Trying help a friend in need, who wants a bike to cycle home within the city centre because they don't feel safe walking and have very little money.

Would anyone have a bike or frame going for between €0-100 suitable for someone 160cms/5' 2" with no preferences on type or style, as long as it can be gotten running relatively easily.

    Based in Dublin.

I may be able to help in some way, I have an old steel frame (50cm st/54 tt) with a carbon fork, drop bars, stem?,fd, compact chainset, brakes and maybe a chain

Thanks Granda, but that sounds 1. beyond their budget and 2. Simply too good a bike for the intended use.

No problem did you try your local recycling center, you'd be surprised what some people throw away

Is it for a male or female.

I have an old ladies Reflex bike with good tyres. Bottom bracket needs tightening but other than that its fine. Its a bit scratched but its running ok. it has 3 X 7 speed gearing. You can have it for nothing if its for a charitable case if you collect. I would need to check the size Monday but with the saddle right down it may do..

It's for a female. Sounds good.

Hey RS, you still looking for something?

I have a friend who is about 5'4 and she has a giant hybrid (female version) not sure of the model but it looks to be a small frame.

Bike is in good nick but needs new brake blocks and could do with a bit of adjustment on the derailleurs (indexing it a little off) and a bit of a clean and lube all around.

She's selling it because she finishes her erasmus placement in a few weeks and won't be taking it back to Germany with her.

I will see here tomorrow or wednesday so I can get full specs and pics and throw them up. Not sure how much she wants but I'll ask.

    Hi guys,

I'd better view Sea swimmer's bike first. Unfortunately I spent yesterday on the great white telephone so my trip out to view it was postponed.

No rush this side RS as she hasn't left yet but I'll post specs, pics and asking price up here anyway.

    Hi Guys,

I'm going to take SeaSwimmer up on his kind offer after having inspected this morning.

A classy bloke with some classy bikes.

THanks again, SeaSwimmer I'll arrange collection before the end of the week...and thanks for letting me horrify people in the vicinity of your workplace with my Lycra clad form.

The cleaned and serviced bike with its new owner after its inaugural spin across town.

Many thanks again Seaswimmer from myself and the new owner.

Looks the perfect little commuter donkey for the city. Fair play to seaswimmer for helping you out and fair play to you for helping your friend out.
