Do you have any programming or design experience whatsoever?

No but I was hoping there's a website that does most of that for me.

You could download a free template and mess around with it.

You could also start off with a CMS such as Wordpress (wordpress.org). This would do a lot of the work for you.

You should start by getting one of those free websites on a wordpress or similar.
There's plenty of tutorials on youtube.

Just an example on creating a wordpress site

if you don't want to get into coding, etc. one of the easiest and most popular solutions is http:// www. weebly .com/

alternatively, if you are willing to spend a bit more time into the whole thing, i would recommend using Wordpress. you don't necessarily need any particular HTML or CSS knowledge as you can download a template from one of the many sites (as per above suggestion). plus Wordpress is highly customisable (eg you might find template and plugins specifically customised for your industry, shop, or company). i hope it helps. i have used it myself a number of times and it's great

If you are just doing a single website you shouldn't need to learn any coding and the like. WordPress would be the best way forward. You could have 2 types of WP site: one hosted for free on wordpress.com or self-hosted on your own domain for around €50-70pa using the resources from wordpress.org or from your hosting control panel. The free wordpress.com is fairly limited in what you can do and has no email. Self-hosted WordPress has tonnes of plugins, support and there are loads of tutorial videos on YouTube.

Weebly, Wix and iWebs are available but I have them firmly in the style and simplicity over substance and quality box so I'd strongly advise against them.
