    Hi

I am a complete novice but have taken well over 50,000 family photos using my Canon 1000D / Rebel XS camera. I know this is a bargain basement camera but I love its size and weight and we take it everywhere. It is now however 7 years old and having problems. The view finder is out of focus and blurry and the auto-focus now struggles regardless of what lens I use. Before anyone suggests the the diopter it is not that!

My question is should I just get a new camera or is it worth getting fixed or if these camera can be fixed at all.

I know you all probably look down on a camera like this but it has literally been all over the world and taken a lot of very precious pictures so seems a shame to discard it.

    What should I do?

    Thanks!
