    QB Jimmy Clausen 74
    WR Jeffrey 82
    WR Bennett 78
    WR Cross 75
    CB Wreh Wilson 85
    CB Wilson 82
    CB Harris 78
    LT Nixon 77
    LG Herman 76
    C Berger 77
    C Madsen 76
    MLB Bostic 73
    DT Babineaux 83

    I am looking for:
    MLB > 78
    C > 83
    LG > 85
    RE > 85
    CB > 90

I have huge cap space, so if you have any players that you want to get off your hands to make cap room, I would be happy to take them.

What if I put Brandan Marshall and Bennett my TE on the trade block? Anyone interested then?

How can you afford to let marshall go, his release pen is 30m

Even if I trade him away?? I am just desperate for good guys on D that I am willing to give up a good lot for them. I will have to have a better look at it later. Apologies if I can't do it.

Don't think it's 30million if your trade him, that's just there if he is released cos he's guaranteed that money over the next couple of years! so whatever he is due in 2015 is the only thing that really matters!

Are you sure it doesnt matter, i was under the impression you had to pay his release if you were letting him go

Whatever his remaining bonus is needs to be paid by the team releasing or trading him. His salary is picked up by the team he is traded to.

What's his bonus and years remaining?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,804 ✭✭✭Raoul

He has 6 years remaining on his contract and 30 mill bonus. I have no idea how this works. :)

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 6,337 Mod ✭✭✭✭PerrinV2

Well on the Salaries screen it says, savings of 4 mil, penalty of 28 mil so I dont think you'd have any cap left to sign another player

I think that I would only lose 4 mill in cap space then the rest would be next year or someone else pays it.

Anyway, it has generated a couple of offers :).

AFAIK, the bonus money would be paid to the player by you and count against your cap immediately. This happened with myself and Mike when I traded for Ngata. We didn't know it at the time, but he ended up getting hit with the bonus money while I only had to pay his normal salary.

In the case of Marshall, I think you'll have to pay $20m + in bonus money which, as your cap space is $15.5m at the minute, will have you in the red.

I looked into it after the Ngata trade and found the below:

    http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2013/2/23/4017138/salary-cap-101-proration-amortization-cap-hits-dead-money-and-more
If a player is cut before the end of his contract, the entire unamortized signing bonus money (the remaining prorated bonus money) accelerates immediately and counts against the 2013 salary cap.

In essence, trading or cutting a player saves the old team from paying the player's base salary, but that comes at the price of taking a cap hit by having to account for the full accelerated signing bonus.

Would have agreed but I want online and proposed a trade in curiosity and he doesn't get the majority of the cap hit till next year anyway

6 year contract, 30 mil bonus = 5 mil per year.

Trade him now and 5 mil cap hit this year and 25 mil next year. Lucky this is our last season.

:) Interesting stuff though that I was never really sure of.

That's assuming a 6 year contract and all 6 years remaining.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,804 ✭✭✭Raoul

7 year contract with 6 years remaining.

My FS Conte is up on the trade block. Very good FS rated 87 in my scheme.

Also my LG Marlon Harewood, rated 79.

The old West Ham striker? You have to keep him for novelty alone :D

I actually don't know what his real first name is.

Ah he was a 6th round pick for the Ravens in real life

    Ramon Harewood ;)

Never did much of anything. Two years on IR after blowing out both his knees, started a few games at guard and got cut

Would anyone like Matt Forte? I would be looking for a shutdown corner in return.

Exactly the type of player I'm looking for and I'm way overstocked at the CB position.

    Any of mine interest you?

I've got Patrick Robinson (89 MCV, 90 ZCV, 86 Press), Jabari Greer (88 MCV, 90 ZCV, 86 Press), Kennan Lewis (87 MCV, 88 ZCV, 90 Press) or Corey White (87 MCV, 87 ZCV, 85 Press).

Just out of interest why are you getting rid of your best players Raoul considering its the last season?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,804 ✭✭✭Raoul

New approach. I want to sure up my D-fence. I had the 2nd best D in the league last year but if I am to go for the superbowl, I think I can do it on Offense with any guys I have whereas on D, I need CPU help. Empacher was the only person last season to absolutely gut my D but I think that another CB would really help.
