    Hello,
    I have a RR 3.0 TD6 commercial.

I'm not sure whether it was imported as a commercial or passenger. Currently tax'd and tested as a commercial.

In the summer I'm going abroad and hope to bring the Land Rover. I will be sleeping and camping some nights in the RR. Is it possible to convert it to a camper and at the same time re-install the rear seats.

If I did this would would the insurance implication be?

    Thanks guys.

    Probably not.

How are you going to squeeze in the required seats, table, bed, cupboards and cooking facilities?

It is possible to do. If you put the rear seats back in the easiest thing to do is install a false wooden flow in the rear, which will be about the same height as the rear seats folded forward. On this false floor you can install sliding drawers that can house things like your cooking facilities, small steel sink and storage etc.
Then hinged on this top of these drawer would be a piece of wood to fold over onto the folded rear seats to make flat a sleeping space.

If the RR has the tailgate, a table can be placed on that.

It won't be easy and will be tight for space with the rear seats put back in. For the cost, purchasing a roof top tent could be the easier option.

What implication would one face regarding Insurance?
I don't want complete the conversion and then realise that it's next to impossible to obtain insurance.

Has anyone done anything similar in the past? I'm actually starting to think this could be really cool project.

Although the minimum height requirements are no longer in force, I believe most Insurances for Campers still insist on it.
