Upgrading/Trade in Question

    Evening all,

I'm currently talking to a dealer about trading in my 2011 Focus style 1.6tdci (old model). I've been keen to get a 3 series BMW for a while now and have found one I like with all the spec etc. that I'm after.

I bought the focus 2 years ago for €15500 and the dealer is offering me €11300 for it against a sticker price of €19995 for the 3 series. Losing €4000 in value in 2 years is a bit painful, there's only 38000KM on the clock on my focus. I know trade in prices can be deceptive etc. when viewed against the overall cost but just wondering do any of you guys with a better knowledge of dealers than myself have any idea if this deal looks good on paper?

    Thanks in advance.

Put it up for sale on donedeal for a grand more than the dealer is giving you. Your rock bottom is the 11300. Then go to the dealer with cash and get a better deal.

Loosing €4k over two years on a Focus is not the worst to be honest especially given it is the old model and considering as there are so many of them for sale.
