north strand road / Amiens St cycle plan

Looking at the Draft Greater Dublin Area Cycle Network Plan it appears that there is a plan to turn Amiens St into a bus gate and to make 2 x 2m wide cycle lanes along north stand on one side of the road. While this is clearly needed for cyclists, is it realistically going to be implemented? Any opinions?

Can really see that happening. It's a fairly busy route and there's little in the way of alternatives.

Where would all the cars go though? I know cycling takes priority for planning over motor cars but it's such an important artery that it's hard to see it shut off for cars.

I agree with you though, hard to see any other alternative.
