    Yes same for me, XL not working all weekend - think someone in RTE needs to reboot it!

    Not just the Rte Player...the BBC I player and sky go also in trouble this weekend ...

    XL still not working for me - anyone else having any luck? .. i emailed them and they sent me a copy and paste reply to update flash etc.. but i think its a global issue as my friend in USA is having the same problem.

    on the XL player skipping past the start & going back gets it working. using the arrow keys is easiest.

    the normal player isn't working for me, when i click play the background just goes the same as the rest of the page, no video at all.
    anyone any ideas whats wrong or where's the best forum/thread for rte player issues?

    Excellent thanks! that has fixed my XL issue .... Re the normal player, i had the same issue too and the adblock edge 2.1 addon for Firefox fixed it for me (thanks to zenno).. Have you tried that yet?

    no, just installing it or you do mean disabling it?

    i was on with chrome + adblock & tried disabling it & changing a few content setting but it made no difference, though i don't use the player that much anyway so its not really a big deal for me, & at least XL works

    Firefox 28 / Windows 7 , with fresh install of adblock edge 2.1 with no changes to default settings has fixed it for me.. good luck (ps i am happy to watch RTE player ads, but had no choice to use this add-on to get the player to work at all )

    what were you using before?

    there's no difference between the XL and normal player either is there, same content isn't it

    Before I didn't have the adblock.... normal player has option to stream at 1024k which is twice the quality of xl's 512k. Also normal has live tv streaming
