Does anyone know of any companies who do EGR deleting in Munster? I have purchased a balking plate for my Vectra Sri 1.9 Cdti and want to block off the EGR valve and disable it completely in the ECU. It has already destroyed the intake manifold with soot and even if I install a new one I'll be faced with the same issues in 30-40k again.

I've kinda gone off blanking them as effort wasted. I just block the vacuum actuation pipe - easier and quicker. It keeps them shut, same as a blanking plate, without the disassembly guff.

Does that set off the engine light?

It will probably put you in limp mode too. Newer diesels have electronic egr not vacuum powered and generally need to be remapped off.
