Importing 2008 mk5 Golf

I'm am considering importing a 2008 mk5 2.0 TDi 140 bhp golf from the UK,

The main reason for importing is I want sunroof, heated leather seats etc.

I have just a few questions:

Will I have 'cheap' on 2008 import if say it was first registered in say January 2008?

And secondly,

Is the 140 bhp PD engine in these cars reliable? (I remembering reading a tread sometime back on here about a 05 or 06 2.0 tdi passat giving a lot of engine problems).

Don't think the 2.0 litre PD engine in the Golf/A3 suffers from the same oil pump/balance shaft issue as the other versions in the A4/A6, Passat, etc. Injectors seem to be a problem but VW are replacing these under a recall, check the car's service history to see if these were already replaced.

And yes it will go on the emissions based motor tax system once it was originally registered in 2008 or onwards.

had a look on pistonheads.com couldn't see any with a sun roof can't believe on carzone prices around E15000 for a 08 car
