Now that nesting has started and the weather has improved, don't forget to have water available for birds in the garden. A bird bath, a shallow bowl, an old dustbin lid, anything as long as there is a source of water for drinking and bathing.

we have a stream running near by, so water shouldn't be an issue in our location.
what about the seed? do you still put the seed out? I still do. The feeder gets emptied at the same rate if not faster as it was back in winter months. Are they really that hungry or just got used to an easy meal? esp goldfinches - I've increased niger seed part in my mix, I think I have them really spoiled now :D

Seed is an important source of protein for adults engaged in nest building, breeding, and rearing young. Keep feeding all year round.

If the stream has any depth at all they cannot drink nor bath in it and would still require a bird bath/drinker.

The starlings in my garden are in the bath all day the past week, 4-5 at a time fighting and squaring up to each other, great entertainment but I have to refill the bath every couple of hours :D

I had to put a stick in my water feature today because the level has fallen and birds couldn't reach the water

I stopped feeding birds a few weeks ago. Plenty of wild food now like chickweed and dandelion clocks
