AliExpress : Never purchased anything, but they've sent e-mails stating otherwise

Has anyone else encountered this before:

I received an e-mail from a company called AliExpress about purchases I never made. Even had to google the company name to see what they actually sell online. Actually, that googling happened when I received an e-mail saying 'Welcome to AliExpress.com'.

Anywhoo, 7-different e-mails came in saying 'Paid Successfully' 3-days ago eventhough I never bought nor authorised anything with them.
Then, 7-different e-mails stating the items have been shipped within last 1-2days.

E-mails are full of linkies that I have refused point-blank to click and open. No un-authorised payments gone through my bank account that I can see online at the moment that I can see as yet, my online banking seems okay right now.

    Has this happened anyone else?

    Thanking You,
    kerry4sam

Someone likely put in the wrong email address on signing up. Happens a lot if you have your own name at a major provider like Gmail.

delete and do not click on any link.

Scam mail to put malware on your PC.

Yeah OP, its either that someone put the wrong email in the box when registering, or else its just scam mail (i.e. like those paypal fake emails)

    Either way just ignore it.

Some are just trying to see if the email address they made up is legit, then they will put you on general junk email lists if you respond.

A good trick some use is that they try and pose as a relation or something, sending you a personal email, so you might respond thinking its important and informing them they used the incorrect email. I kept getting bogus dentist appointments for a while, probably hoping I would be concerned that someone would miss their appointment and hoping I would respond.

The e-mails are generic in that they say 'Hello x' ; x being my name which is in my e-mail address.

Emails stating shipments sent on the 19th & e-mail says company is based in HongKong!

No sign that they actually have any of my personal details though. Nothing personal about what I'm receiving.

Latest is an e-mail about tips for beginners; helpful tips for shopping with AliExpress.com.

I'm going to keep the 7 14 e-mails mentioned above and see if anything comes from them within the next month.

    Thanks for your replies,

An easy way to check is to cut & paste a strange sounding line from the email, paste it into google using the "quotes" so it has to search for that line in that order.

Most of the emails will have weird pidgin english in them somewhere.

You could paste up some of the email here, so people here can spot a line, but also people searching on google may find this thread.
