Group Information Session letter but no JSA payment!

I applied for JSA back at the beginning of March and have been waiting since then to have my claim decided. I last spoke to social welfare on the phone on Tuesday 14th when they told me my claim is still being processed and is taking longer because my partner is self-employed.

Then, when I got home on Thursday evening I found a letter from the same social welfare dated Wednesday 15th saying I must attend an Intreo Group Information Session on April 29th or have my jobseekers' payment - which I haven't got yet! - stopped.

Is this letter likely just a total mistake or does it mean they have finally approved by JSA claim? I couldn't ring them to ask as they're closed until Tuesday and it's just occurred to me that if they did approve it then my JSA would be waiting in the post office for me possibly since Wednesday and I now may be too late collecting it when the post office re-opens on Tuesday and it could be sent back, causing more hassle.

Anyone have any idea what's likely to be going on?

While you're being assessed you are still subject to signing on and doing information sessions etc. So while your claim may still be processing you still have to attend any signing or assessment days.
