    hi

the car failed the NCT with unsecured rear brake-hoses . I had a look and there doesn't appear to be any locking mechanism to keep the hose secure in the assembly on either side ( see pic 2 ).

Is there a clip that holds the pipe into the bracket and if so does anyone have a pic and a part number ?

    thanks in advance

    brendan

and a rusty brake pipe in first photo, jubilee clip as you can open it up put around pipe and tighten up in place stops it from moving and no loss of brake fluid involved,i would suggest to clean up rusty pipe or get failed the 2nd time.

    hi lucifer

thanks for the link and am i correct in saying that i will have to disconnect the brake pipes in order to get this clip on and then bleed the brake system ?. The bleeding of the brake system is beyond my skills so will have to go to a mechanic ;-C or use greaseplan's option

@greaseplan , sounds like a plan but would it pass the nct with a jubilee clip and cleaned up brake pipes ?

    thanks for the help lads

    regards

pipe is secured as that is what they want,my clip has gone on mine 5+ years and jubilee clip still there.

loosening metal brake pipes can and maybe rusted and could shear off needing new pipe and bleeding.
