Average enough prices, if not slightly over priced.

Argos for example have an 4TB external for €150 at the moment.

As well as a 2TB USB 3.0 external for €75

Was more so for the internal hd, external are always on offer..

Where are you getting a pen drive at that price?

Just remove a few screws from the case and its all the same!

That's not always the case. One of my friends bought an external 2.5" drive (WD Passport) intending to fit it into his laptop. But once he cracked the case open, he found a drive that had the USB connector on it only! So instead of a SATA drive with a USB converter, it has USB natively. He even damaged the case so he couldn't return it :D

So beware if you're trying to do this ;)

I agree these prices are too high by the way. Currys and PC World are almost always overpriced though. Unless they have a deal on something.

There's a difference between price and value. A lot of the cheaper flash drives are brutally slow and don't last long.

Besides you cant use them as a main drive or with the same frequency of writes as normal drive. Pointless comparing them. Check how many writes those cheap drives are rated for.

If one thinks one can get a functional 64GB pen drive for £10 delivered, then one is mistaken.

16GB (or probably significantly less) with looping firmware that reports 64GB, perhaps. €25 realistically is the floor for an actual 64GB product.

Man they have a lot of negative comments. Even the good one comment on how slow they are.

Buying a USB 2.0 64GB drive is a complete waste of time. Especially a no name, heap of junk. It would take an age to fill, and even if you did I would never be comfortable with using it for fear of it bricking itself. I've had cheap USBs do it before, people in college losing reports, and docs all due to relying on crappy USB drives. If you need the space buy a reputable 3.0 64GB for more.

Anyway, this thread is spiraling just a little off topic!

£13, plus delivery, for a no-brander. Not under a tenner delivered as claimed anyway.

Depends on usage - black is best for performance - if building (for example) a file/media server green could be argued as being best as it is less power hungry and fast enough for those purposes.

Red are the recommended for NAS/RAID setup now. I couldn't get WD Green HDs to work in either of my NAS boxes. Blue and black were fine.
