Engine runs smooth, rougher as petrol tank level drops

Just wondering is there anything I should check up on with this. Car runs ever so smooth and quiet after filling with petrol (past half tank, or up to full) and rougher as level drops to maybe quarter tank level, definitely louder as it goes lower still.

    Renault Laguna 2, 1.6l post-facelift model.

full fuel tank absorbs noise of petrol pump, when it gets lower it gets louder maybe replacement time soon.

Hmmm, might be worth checking. It's more that it's noisy under acceleration in particular, but you'd hardly hear any push for power after the tank's filled, just moves forward without any fuss.
