I'm very tempted by this. Reviews are generally positive but many mention the wheels as being a let down relative to the rest of the bike. The frame and the components generally get a thumbs up. So my question - on balance and given that I'd need to spend a bit more to get everything right, is it worth the €2k?

Depends what you are after really?
I've just got one over the last two weeks. The wheels are the poorest part of it right enough but their still ok. Had it on the scales there between 8.5 and 8.6 kg . it is a decent ride but I have been on an alum carbon fork bike with tiagra components. The frame is good and wheels can be changed. that said if I was back again would go for something else simply for the weight but that's a personal thing. I will be upgrading wheels so that should help

Wheels are DT Swiss..nothing wrong with them.. People usually upgrade the wheels first anyways so that's why they are not "amazing"...

I have fallen madly in love with mine. It was a choice made out of logic, but it's such a good bike that it's won me over.

Thanks everyone so far. At the moment I'm on a Corratec Dolomiti 2010 model. Alloy frame, carbon fork with full 105s, Mavic Aksium race wheels and Conti Grand Prix tires. I love it, never had a problem with it. My intention is to keep that as a " wet day/winter" bike. I'm not too worried about the 8.2kg weight, I could do with losing 10lbs myself. So is it worth it? That's what I have to work out.

I don't normally like the look of modern bikes but that one made me swoon.

On that basis I say get one! :pac:

Just swap the Aksiums over to the TCR and it will be a very good bike. The wheels are terrible but everything else is decent. I tried buying one of these in my LBS a few weeks ago and there was a wait of 7 weeks or so from Giant in my size M/L.

That's part of the attraction andy_magic. I need a small frame and they have it right there in the shop just waiting for me to take it away.. Temptation, temptation ...

I'd go for it myself if I'm honest
