USPC Gates T2

Can anybody tell me which gates are now used for USPC?

I know 401, 402, 403, 404, 405, 406 however with the works carried out I believe gates 421 and 426 have being added. Is that the only two added and anyone know why these gates were picked as they are the opposite end of the pier in stead of for example 407 etc.

    Thanks!

In fact ANY gate in T2 can be used as USPC gate

As you walk through T2 about half way down there is an escalator up from USPC which is just after a partition which can be closed.

Close that partition and the high numbered gates can be used by USPC flights

I have certainly boarded pre cleared via the last gate in T2

This is pretty much it. There's swing gates on Pier E which allow parts of the Pier to be used for US flights. There's a set around gate 420 and another set further down also but these haven't ever been used and would mean pretty much all of EI's ops would have to go to Pier B if used. The upper gates have already seen use since the summer season kicked in at the end of March.

The newly extended CBP hall opened a few days ago with a much larger TSA pre-check which is now before you go through to be processed by CBP. It eliminates the narrow pinch point that existed before and makes for a much more comfortable experience.

Gates 423 and 426 were always used for CBP, as previously mentioned using a partition', however stands 406L and 406R were recently re-aligned to accommodate a 757 on each stand (prior to this 406C was used for a 757 and this blocked out 406L and R and used gate 406 from down in the CBP area) So this allows one extra US CBP 757 on the pier, giving extra capacity. One uses gate 406 from downstairs and the other uses gate 421 from upstairs to allow segregation of the 2 flights if boarding at the same time. Stands 406L and 406R were renamed 406A and 406B when they were re-aligned.

Hope this makes sense on screen because it does in my head.

It took a re-read but I think my mind will retain that data.....;)

So are you saying you don't have to go through security after immigration?

The new refurbishment will mean you go through TSA mandated security before Customs/Immigration.

Previously you went to the CBP hall, got processed by the CBP Officers and then proceeded through a secondary security point staffed by a private firm who are trained to TSA guidelines. That was located in a fairly narrow corridor and was a horrendous bottleneck from April to the end of October.

Now all that is done before you get processed by CBP in a much larger area making it a much better environment for all concerned, customers and staff alike.

Oh trying it out for the first time in June excited.

What way does the check in work? I looked at the map and it is very confusing.

Check in is on the ground floor. Assuming you're flying with an American carrier you'll be checking in at one of the desks in the 1-28 section. Once you've checked in you ascend 2 floors to go through security and then proceed to the USCBP hall where you go through a secondary security check followed by US Immigration and Customs.

Yes... United Airlines. It was very confusing looking on the map it mentioned check in down stairs and upstairs.

Yea the maps can be a bit on the confusing side but once you are in the building it's easy enough. If all else fails just ask someone with a ID badge where to go, most people are helpful enough.
