Revenue property seizure

    Hello all,
    What is a commercial tenant's rights if the Revenue are seizing the landlord's property due to unpaid taxes?
    Will the Revenue leave the tenant in place and effectively become the Landlord?
    The tenant is in place for six years, pays monthly rent and there is no lease in place.

    The tenant is in place for six years, pays monthly rent and there is no lease in place.

    Revenue don't seize premises, they obtain judgement mortgage so that they get paid out of proceeds of a sale, or they get an attachment order which means that they can instruct debtors of the defaulting taxpayer to pay them rather than the taxpayer.

    So in your case, Revenue don't become the landlord, they simply tell the tenant that the amount they were due to pay the landlord is to be paid to Revenue instead.

    Personally I think the landlord wants my friend out of the premises and is spinning yarns to put the pressure on a person who is going through a tough time.
    As there is no lease in place, can he theoretically say you are out in 30 days for example even though he is a tenant for years?
