Bvd sample empty

    Got a text this morning with the Bvd results of a calf. It read sample empty, retest calf.

    Not sure what happened as the calf was tagged as normal. Any way does any one know what the procedure is now? Am I right in thinking I need to contact euro tags on tues order a new tag and when it arrives cut out the original tag and put the new one in his ear?

    you can order a replacement "green tag" on line, i dont bother taking the old one out

    I haven't had any yet, touch wood. I was fully expecting one though. I was tagging a bunch of calves and put the wrong front tag opposite the bvd sample tag (no green bit) and I still got an ok result.
    How much are the button tags? Probably a fiver to post :eek: from mullinahole for 1 tag.

    If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

    Don't know what happened this one. He was no trouble to tag as he was only about 24 hours old. Could have been just a faulty tag.

    Not sure how much they are but ill not be long finding out ha

    Contact eurotags they'll send out a green round button tag, i had one a few weeks back, i tagged alongside the original tag leaving the original in place, i would'nt go cutting out the original tag to be honest.

    Happened with a calf that was DOA so had to order a green button tag for the cow.

    If you cut out the old one you still have to make a new hole or you'll have another empty sample. I know that probably goes without saying but just in case anyone isn't thinking straight.

    Had one recently. Got text, from different number than usual for bvd results, saying ear sample empty and to wait letter for further instruction. That about 9 or 10 days ago and heard nothing since. Did this happen anyone and should i just ring for new tag?

    i normally just order a new tag as soon as i get the empry text
