Payslip query

    Just a question, on my payslip normally for pay the detail for it is : basic pay

    Today when I got my payslip instead of saying basic it sais this : A/leave

    Anyone know what that means, I was a bit scared thinkin it means ive been fired or something?, not sure what to make of it

    Annual leave?
    Did you take any day's off since your last payslip was issued?

    They're telling you to leave. Consider this your notice.

    It just means Annual Leave. Holiday pay.

    Definitely annual leave.

    If you're paid hourly or you're part time, then annual leave is paid based on an average of the hours worked over the last X weeks. So it will appear as a separate line item on your payslip.

    Im paid part time, and we dont have holidays, and I got paid for the work of this week, except with a different name on it ie A/leave

    You do have holidays. You cannot be working and not have holidays :)

    They may have paid you for the bank holiday on Monday and put it down as A/leave

    Query it with your HR/Payroll people if you're worried.

    My job is like this I work through a recruitment agency, and whenever warehouse has available shifts, i get a call from my agency asking if im available to work, so i have option to refuse or accept based on if im available etc

    so some days i get called once a week, other 2-3 times week etc

    thats why im pretty sure i wont get paid for holidays

    even as a part time employee, you are entitled to holiday pay for time built up. Do you get paid by the agency or by the employer? easiest thing, is to ask and clarify what you are being paid for.

    Part-time work: Generally, the annual leave for part-time workers is calculated using the 3rd method, that is, 8% of hours worked. If you work full time for some months and the rest of the year you work part time, you should calculate the leave for the full-time and the part-time periods of work separately.

    its also possible who ever entered the pay into the payroll system, just put your hours/money into the wrong column ie : a/leave instead of basic.
