I have a policy with NoNonsense and I suspended it in January because I sold my car. Bought a new one yesterday but never got a chance to ring them. Tried ringing today and they are closed until Tuesday. Is there any way for me to insure the car before then? We are going away on Monday and wanted to bring the new car. My wife has insurance on her own car so we may be able to get it transferred. Do we have any other options?

NoNonsense are just a front for FBD. Are they closed?

Yes FBD are closed too. I got talking to someone in Chill.ie who said they are out the door because of the collapse of Setanta so I'd say it's cost them a fair bit of business.

I got a new policy through Chill and it has a 14 day cooling off period so if I cancel before then I will get a full refund except a cost for the days that the insurance was valid. I'll speak to NoNonsense on Tuesday and decide which to stick with.

yeah that sounds like you best option, check the fine print, you may have to pay the setup charges as well as the cost of the insurance for the few days.
