    Hi Guys,

My fiancé and I, are looking into the housing market and want to start a family. We haven't a clue on where to start and we don't earn high wages.

    I earn 24k and she earns 26k.

I'm from and live in Rathfarnham and she is from and lives in Drimnagh.
I work in Sandyford and she works in Tallaght.

Ideally we love to buy a home in Rathfarnham as that's pretty much where our life is. But as you know, house prices are really here... the cheapest seem to be between 250k and 350k...

    Been realistic...

on our wages will a bank lend to us?

Are we able to go on some sort of Social housing list?

This is all very scary stuff.

You're not MILES off the mark, if you're solid savers you might get approval for ~200k give or take. Might have to reassess your desired location though.
