Remove water spots from screen

    Hi,
As mentioned in a previous post (replacement battery for Nexus 5) my phone got water damaged. It powers up when plugged in but there are what look like water marks on the inside of the screen screen. Looking online the solution seems to be to submerge the phone in Isopropyl Alcohol to wash off any residues. I am pretty confident that this wont damage the phone (will not submerge battery), but does any one know if it will actually remove the water spots or would I be wasting my time?
    Thanks

You could try the bag of rice trick beforehand?

Yeah, I had it in rice with the back off for a number of days. Its hard to tell if its still wet under the screen, or whether its minerals left over from the water. I probably wont get a chance to go down the alcohol route until the end of next week so you are right in that I should just put it back into the rice and see how things go.
