    Hi everybody, I have a 2002 polo.
I passed the NCT less than a month ago and the car is going ok.

Sometimes the light on the dashboard that should correspond to the break pads switches on.. not everyday.

I know I should get it checked.. but I would like to know how safe is to drive.
For this bank holiday I am supposed to go somewhere driving approx 300km.

    Thanks

The pad warning light (yellow or orange) once activated should stay on.
Is it a red light you have?
As it would be foolish to tell you the brakes are fine without seeing the car, best just stop at a garage, let them have a quick look. Tell them you think you need pads. Either get them right there or book in for a week or so.

one day is on and one day not... no idea... not always..
I might try to go to a garage today... as usual these things happens during holiday season!

    thanks

Check your break fluid level, might have dropped due to pad wear. Its the one with usually yellow cap, sitting on tubular piston that connects to a big black round thing.
