Blinds or curtains for sliding door?

    Hi All,

We currently have vertical blinds on our kitchen patio sliding door but they're looking a bit shabby now so I want to replace them. Is there any other option for a sliding door other than vertical blinds?

I don't know if tie back curtains are an option - it's a kitchen and we're overlooked so we need a bit of privacy but I wouldn't like to have the curtains closed all the time.

    Anybody have any suggestions?

I'm wondering something similar for our sitting room, though they are full length double doors that we've put in. I am thinking tie back curtains for now and maybe a roller blind at some stage. But where I currently live, they have the full length vertical blinds and they just get in the way tbh.

Would you consider net curtains for your privacy, or something similar, not sure what options would be out there. That way you'd still be getting in a good bit of the light.

I'm fairly crap at this sort of thing tbh! Just looking in here for advice on my own project!

We got blinds from hillary blinds. Go to their web site , the ones we got were for conservatories, perfect fit they are called and come in a pleated effect, they are brillant, you can have them closed down , open up half way or opened fully, best possible option hope they suit sliding door, i think they should

    Hey guys
Not much else you can do.
Unfortunately the perfect fit blinds nidge mentions are not suitable for sliding door do to the small gap between the sliding door and fixed window.

I have done Venetian blinds on them before but they don't look well.

Vertices or curtains are the best option

I have full length curtains hung on a pole over a sliding door, and a voile for privacy during the day.
You can get the lot in Ikea relatively cheaply (<100 if you're on a tight budget and look around).

As it's in a kitchen I would recommend washable material and a few voiles as light coloured ones can get dirt or handprints on regularly.

Thanks all, I think I'll try Ikea and Hillarys
