Hi iv recieved as many as as 4-6 fines since 2014 for parking outside my own house , its on a main street and iv went to the council and they said they only issue 1 parking permit per house as my mother already has one , where do i go from here ? i dont expect to pay the fines and pay for parking at my own house.

I'd say talk to some of you local councilors I can understand a limit on permits but 1 is really pushing it. Don't forget election time coming up so ideal time to be asking things of your councilors,

Living in a house conveys no given right to park on a street so a note in the window isn't going to cut it with a warden.

Copying a permit is not a smart idea especially when your a serial offender at the same location; it could easily have put your mothers legitiate permit at risk so consider yourself lucky that nothing came of it. At this stage you really ought to pay up or park elsewhere if an additional permit can't be issued to you.

The refusal of the council to issue a second permit may be something worth attacking. If I was you I would seek advice on that issue.

Cllr Denis Leahy asked officials about the regulations regarding flat dwellers.

“If each person in the flat owns a car registered to that address each of them will be eligible to a parking permit”, said Aidan Finn,Town Engineer. "If those only home for weekends also have their car registered to that address then they too will be entitled to a parking permit", he added.
