    Hi there,

I have just bought a racer to take up cycling. I used to go cycling once a week some years back but haven't done it in a long while. I'd like to go for a ride on Saturdays or Sundays (depending on the weather) now that temperatures are a little higher. I am fairly out of shape so more than 30/35km isn't an option for now, but I'm 27 and expect to get back into shape in a couple of months.

Is there anyone out there in a similar situation that would like to enjoy a weekly ride or something of that sort? Last week I went from Fairview along the seaside up to Howth and then back down to Clontarf.

    Thanks,
    O.D.

Plenty of clubs to choose from around that area and if the planned spin is too long you can aways turn off. Check out clontarf cc on facebook

    Thanks a lot stecleary!

I was rather looking for something more informal. To be able to harden our spins as we get in better shape without having to turn off which in my opinion kills your motivation a little. Just trying my luck should anyone wants to enjoy a weekly spin but feels put off by the "seriousness" of joining a club.

    Thanks.

There is always groups in the Phoenix Park doing circuits. It will (a) increase your fitness as you can get on someones wheell untill you can improve your aerobic levels & (b) improve your cycling technique in a group scenario to avoid spills.

Do it every day if possible, climb howth, get cycling computer with cadence and you can monitor your performance during the spin and chalenge yourself based on live feed from this little thing and in no time you'll be in shape...
