    Hey all,
Was wondering if fillings last forever, or do they eventually need replacing? Have quite a few (had a number of sweet teeth when I was a kid), and it came up in conversation lately (the lads were talking about total tooth replacement). No pain in any of them (one or two sensitive to cold, but that's about it), so I'd be hoping they last a long time. Most of the fillings were in the past 10 years.

All dentistry will fail if you give it enough time. Fillings can last a long time and there is no finite lifespan, however smaller fillings last longer than big ones, and silver ones generally last longer than white ones. But the simple answer is no filling dont last forever.
