    Hi,

Not my normal holiday plan this year as this time I am pregnant and seeking that last week of R&R somewhere in the sun with my darling OH before I get too far on to travel in comfort and before other priorities take over! :D

Looking for ideas please. Prob will be Spain or Portugal or Italy. Somewhere on the coast, cheap and cheerful but not tack'm'lack! We are not gonna be partying exactly so somewhere nice to chill with good food options and beaches and maybe with potential to hire a car a day or 2 to explore.

Where would be good these days? Happy to take a package, but would normally go independent and more adventurous but those days are on hold, so this is unknown territory!

I know... how long's a piece of string etc... but where have people been lately for similar breaks and could recommend/ or advise against please?

I would highly recommend Biarritz, beautiful coastline, gorgeous weather, and not completely spoiled by tourists. Very relaxing for you and growing bump!

I was originally going to say Rome, as personally, it's my favourite city of all time, was there twice last year, for 12 days and then a week respectively, we stayed just outside the city in a 4 star campsite, but there are plenty of beautiful options, and you're not that far from the sea either, (Ostia Antica), but there is an awful lot of ground to be covered and for a pregnant lady, that's just not practical!

    Hi,

I would recommend the Girona region in Spain. It has great beaches & coastline, lovely countryside & nice small villages & resorts.

We usually stay in Begur on the coast with possibly a look around Girona city as well.

There are more details in this previous post.

You could do a lot worse than Illetas in Majorca. It's on the edge of Palma and is a very low key, but very sophisticated resort. There's a couple of nice beaches, some nice restaurants and it is easy to get in to Palma if you want some hustle and bustle.
