Hey guys i bought a 2009 Audi A6 around a month ago. It has 116,000 miles. I noticed after buying it if im up in 6th for example and im going to slow for the gear and i floor the accelerator im obviously putting more stress on the clutch well the revs will rise then drop. At the time i thought it maybe just the rev counter needle but today i did the same thing this time it revd higher and dropped more a few times in same acceleration.

Does this sound like clutch slip if so do i have any comeback with the dealer i bought from or will they just say its a consumable part!!

Maybe maybe not, no harm in asking. The clutch may have been close to gone when you bought it, and the fact that you are labouring the engine hasn't helped, and may not have been noticed by the garage as they most likely didn't drive it after they traded it in.

    What mileage have you done?

I'd say I've done about 1,500 kms since I got it.
I don't drive like that all the time but concerned me the 1st time I noticed it so have checked it again!

Is it the original clutch? If so, it has done well to last so long. Usually the DMF is replaced at the same time, so you are looking at a fairly hefty bill.
