Failure of Modules

I am studying in Carlow IT and I'm almost certain I will fail 2 of my modules. Do any of you know what happens then? Do I repeat the year or just those 2 subjects over the summer?

    Thanks :)

Are they 100% continuous assessment or do you do an exam at the end of them?

Usually, you will have an opportunity to repeat most modules (practicals and written exams are mostly covered, year long projects I'm not quite sure about as I have none of those) but your first step is to speak with the lecturer/s of the modules you are worried about and see what info they can give you. They should be able to tell you about a repeat process or what happens if you fail.

Repeat practicals are usually a week or two after the first attempt, written papers will be in August. In some modules if you also fail the repeat, you will have to repeat that subject the next year. There is also the option of passing by compensation, however this is up to the individual lecturers and the overall grade you get in your other subjects.

If they are CA, speaking to the lecturer is still the first step.
