    Hi folks,

Not sure if this is the correct place for this, but here goes,

Took my car off the road because engine very smoky, got replacement car and have parked up other car,
Sent form to motor tax office in Co. Kildare in mid January.
Just recieved a final demand for motor tax on old car.
When I asked what was the story, the woman who answered said,
" There is no story, We never recieved the RF150 form so the car is still officially on the road", ie I owe the back-dated tax if I ever put the car back on the road.

What the H*&l. I filled in and posted the form, but now owe 3 months worth of back tax??!!!

    Very not happy.

yes, you will need to "sell" the old car to get rid of the tax. can always "buy" it back straight away though ;)

Hey presto no back tax to be paid!

    Hey Cfuser,

Thats the only two ways really man.

    1. Pay the back tax plus at least 3 months forward.

    2. Sell the car to a family member who may take a sudden dislike to it ;)
