Is this a 100% guarantee as we might not of bought such a bargain. I thought not having the manual was the pain !
I spent the day bent over the dash and ear to the bonnet can't hear anything unusual for a diesel , or like the YouTube clips, & what's on forums so am praying it's not a case of only matter of time ????

My Fiancé went to "look" at it monday, and came home with it!
I did the last 7 digits chassis no on realoem.com ( from a link on this forum ) & its Mar 2008 Manf, 320D 177bhp & this famous N47 engine.

I've been onto BMW Ireland and they emailed back yesterday that there are NO outstanding recalls on her. I asked about timing chain and am awaiting a reply!

I had been advised to look into timing chain on Friday by another poster when asking advice when ringing around for one of these models. I told him we need to look into this further & to either go another brand, or wait a year and then trade up outside the N47 E90 engine. He's a tradesman and is handy enough & said there is no noise at the moment & got a mechanic to look her over ............ so felt we bought a good one. I'm not so convinced, seem 2007-2009 are 100% ticking time bombs, am i correct ??

Is there any preventitive action "we" can take?
