Corolla 4x100 Fitment

I've an '07 Corolla commercial that has needed a nice set of alloys for a while now and with OEM ones making mad money, I've been creeping donedeal for the next best thing.

I'm considering the silver RH wheels in this ad (Link). They're a German wheel, so am I right to assume that although they're 4x100, they wont fit the Corolla?

I'm kind of clueless when it comes to offset, center bore and similar stuff, would someone care to enlighten me? :o

They are the right PCD, and look like the correct offset (it looks like 45 on the left side on the back of the wheel). The bore isn't mentioned, it should be bigger than your OEM size (54.1 mm) and can be reduced to 54.1 mm with spigot rings. Get him to measure it before you buy them or you might find they're useless for you. The bore is the diameter where the wheel sits on the spigot of the hub.

You might find them a bit of an oddball tyre size too, they're an 8 inch width which is a bit wide for a regular 195 width 15" tyre. He has 195's on the rims currently and they look horribly stretched. You'd probably be looking at a 215 width which is almost twice the cost per tyre. It's just something to consider, especially when he says they need 3 tyres, and really it's 4 tyres if you put the correct size on.

Those alloys don't look like they'd suit a corolla at all. If it was me id be looking in a breakers for genuine oem alloys. Not only will they fit the car like a glove but they will look much better too.

Worth noting that 2007-2013 model Corolla wheels won't fit.

The ones in the link will look terrible on a Corolla too

Here are some Corolla T Sport wheels

    Suit - no
    Fit - yes

You need 15s on a Corolla. 14" alloys look worse than steelies.

    Thoughts on these?

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/alloyswheels-for-sale/15-4x100-wheels-and-new-tyres/6880148

Genuine toyotas seem scarce on dd or adverts in the munster region.

Those wouldn't look great on a corolla imo.

They kinda remind me of these audi alloys

    Rg5IiYM.jpg?1

which look spectacular every time I seem them.

    But obviously much smaller.

they are wolfrace katanas, all the rage in the early 00's

there was a phrase coined a few years ago when all the "ex show cars" started coming out of the woodwork; "never trust a car on katanas"... the definition of tasteless now unfortunately (or not so unfortunately.

Try a cheeky offer, worth half it for the tyres.

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/view/6815277

90% tyres I'd bill but these wouldn't look top bad.

Are they 14s or 15s, I dismissed them as 14s last night, but now I'm thinking they're uk spec 15s.
You'll need tyres anyway if you're getting 15s

Out of curiousity are the 16s noticeably less comfortable than the ones that were on it(14s?)?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,520 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

There would have been 15s on that one originally (post 04)

The top ones are unfortunately in Donegal. I might give him a ring anyway to see are they gone.

If you were very, very peculiar about it, you'd know the car was sitting that teency higher when taking the bends. I hope to lower it 30 or 40mm to get it a bit less floaty on the roads.

In terms of average everyday driving, I found very little difference in comfort going from 15's to 16's :)

I'd be more than happy to have my everyday driving on urban/motorway/"N" roads - unfortunately my driving's on "R" or even "L" roads, full of potholes. That prevents me from going off 14" rims. :(

The original steel wheels suit the e11 best for comfort imo :)

    I agree, I found a set of 7Jx 14 Toyota 8 spokes off a G6, Nice looking wheels on the E11 facelift.
Fitted 185-60/14 and they ride really well.
I wouldn't fit anything lower than 60 profile on these roads.

Very nice looking! I wonder if they're 16's or 17's?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,520 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

I don't think they're 17s anyway, looking at them on the Corolla.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,855 ✭✭✭nd

Out of curiosity would you all travel approx 300km each way for alloys? He told me they are 16s.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,520 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

I'd want better pics of them first, and details of any buckles etc.

Be prepared for muppetry as well. Many people have travelled across the country to a seller that turns their phone off or sells to someone else.

Ya if I wanted them enough I would, and I really like them ones. It'll be well worth it if you do - proper, nice alloys make such a difference to a car.

But that's assuming, as colm said, they're in good nick.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,855 ✭✭✭nd

took about 11 hours of a drive in total with getting lost on the way home, but I love em. And he gave them to me for 200 which offset the cost of petrol pretty much.
